Kathy Guy (Burke)

April 30, 1965 — July 4, 2022

Kathleen Marie Guy (Burke) was born on April 30 th , 1965, to Dorothy “Dot” Crawford and George Burke in Meridian, MS. Kathy was raised in Meridian by the loving care of Marie “Granny Re-Re” with her siblings, Annette, Michael, and Dennis. At an early age, she moved to Wichita, KS, where she was cared for and resided with her uncle, Bobby Crawford as she finished school. While working at Toc’s Coffeehouse, she met her first Husband, Billy Moore, and her lifelong best friend, Tammy Reed. Bill and Kathy soon welcomed their daughters, Ashley, and Chandra. After their separation, Kathy rekindled her childhood love with Steve Guy, and she soon welcomed a third daughter, Charlotte. Knowing that it was best to raise her daughters in Kansas, she returned to Wichita. Kathy soon met Ernie Hunt, and they together began a life for the next 17 years, raising her three daughters while proudly working 17 years at Raytheon-Beechcraft. During this time in her life, she enjoyed spending time with her daughters, which she always referred to as “my heart”. She also loved to play BINGO, play slot machines (which she had two machines in her living room as décor), drink coffee, host BBQs with friends, watching Lifetime movies, Unsolved Mysteries, and listening to country music. Later, she again reconnected with her childhood love, Steve. They soon became married, living out their marriage in Meridian MS until his passing on August 4th, 2012. After becoming a grandmother, Kathy returned to Kansas to be closer to her immediate family. She became Nana (not grandma, as she said that sounded old), to Henry, Isaac, and Ana Eggers (Ashley), Ambrielle Andrews (Chandra), and Landon and Owens Mailloux (Charlotte). Kathy passed away peacefully on July 4th, 2022, in the hospital, when the Lord called her Home. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Michael and Dennis, Granny Re-Re, and is reunited with Steve Guy. Her memory is cherished and kept alive by her sister Annette (Gerald), Uncle Bobby (Lana), her daughters; Ashley Moore (Josh), Chandra Moore, and Charlotte Mailloux (Mitch) as well as her six grandchildren, many friends and loved ones. We will remember her laugh, tenacious strength, southern charm (twang and spunk), and her love for her home - Mississippi. Memorial established with: Meritrust Credit Union 6263 E. 13th st. 67208.
