Julie Renee Burris, M.D., 47, passed away April 29, 2016. She was born October 3, 1968 to Harold and Sharon Burris in Wichita, KS. Julie excelled academically, graduating as Valedictorian at Wichita High School West. She went on to attend medical school at the University of Kansas - School of Medicine also graduating first in her class, receiving her Doctorate in 1995. She practiced Family Medicine from 1996 until retiring in 2012. Julie married the love of her life, Leonard Adams Jr. on December 30, 1995, having been together for 10 years prior. Julie was so proud of their sons, Grayson and Quinn, and lived every day of her life for them. Being an avid traveler, she would travel with her family at least twice each year. She wanted to give her children the best memories all while showing them the world. Her favorite destination was anywhere there was a beach. Julie and Leonard took the children to Hawaii last December to celebrate their 20-year wedding anniversary. That was, by far, her favorite trip. Julie was full of life. She had a personality that was vibrant, full of humor and wit, and had a heart full of generosity, always looking for ways to help family, friends and anyone else she came across. She was the first person to line up to give a helping hand to anyone in need. She had a love for animals working as a veterinarian technician while attending medical school. She adored her 12-year old Border Collie, Buddy. Survivors include her loving husband, Leonard Adams Jr.; sons Grayson and Quinn; parents, Harold and Sharon Burris; brother, Kent Burris (Karla) and their children Kendon and Kaitlyn; aunts, Marsha Hill, Shirley Cline and Beverly Cline; uncles, Roger Cline and Ray Cline; mother-in-law, Betty Adams (late husband, Leonard Adams Sr.); brother-in-law, Tony Adams (Cory Vosburg); cousins, Greg Sallee (Aimee), Jaime Sallee (Lindsay) and Dain Sallee (Amber Browning); family friends, Sonja Davis, Gayla Anderson and Amanda Spellman.
