Julia Alberta Deepe

Deepe, Julia Alberta, of Douglass, Kansas, was the daughter of Harold and Lillie (Scholl) Reini. The Lord blessed the life of Julia Deepe, first by creating it on May 20, 1927, then by sustaining it for 95 years, and finally by bringing her to her Eternal Home on November 2, 2022. Julia was born at home near Parshall, Colorado and experienced the miracle of baptism shortly thereafter. She married Carl Deepe, November 27, 1947, to this union they were blessed with five children where they lived near Boulder, then Ft. Lupton, CO. In 1982, Julia and her family moved to a farm near Rock, Kansas. Julia enjoyed sewing, gardening, chickens, and spending time in Bible study. She was also active in her local LWML group. She also gathered and packed clothing and quilts for Lutheran World Relief. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Winfield, KS where she volunteered teaching VBS and Sunday school. She was also a trained Stephen minister.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl of 65 years; infant daughter, Lois; brother, Famer Reini; and sister, Inga Stahl. She is survived by sister, Elsie Rewerts; sons, Paul (Karen Hill) Deepe of Winfield, KS, Duane Deepe of Parshall, CO, Albert (Kathy) Deepe of Hayden, CO, Daniel (Sara) Deepe of Douglass, KS; daughter, Carolyn (Mike) Seeliger of Burden KS; eight grandchildren, Kelly Abbott, Laura Hester, Nathan Deepe, Andrea Deepe, Ruth Kaufman, Brian Seeliger, Noah Deepe, Joshua Deepe; eight great-grandchildren, Travis and Blake Abbott, Aida and Blaire Hester, Owen and Natalie Deepe, Lila and Matthew Seeliger and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Friday November 11, 2022. Funeral service is 1:00 pm Saturday, November 12, 2022, both at Trinity Lutheran Church in Winfield, KS. Interment to follow service at Douglass Cemetery.A memorial has been established with Trinity Lutheran Church and School, 910 Mound St., Winfield, Kansas 67156.
