Judy Lea Matney (Toalson)

September 19, 1944 — March 7, 2024

Judy Lea Toalson "Babe" Matney, went to a better life on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY: There are events in our life that trigger a reflection of our life. One of those events happened over night. This is that reflection.

As a teenager, a group of us spent a lot of time together. You might say that we "ran around" together. Our connection was that we all were active in the MYF (Methodist Youth Fellowship) of the church that we attended. We were good friends.

I also had a cousin that lived near us. He was a little older and had a car. We rode around a lot together in his car.

One of the girls in the MYF group saw me with that cousin. She wanted to know who he was. I told her that he was my cousin. She asked, "Can you introduce us?"

I made arrangements for them to meet. So, Bob Matney met Judy Toalson. They started dating and got married and Judy became Judy Matney. Over the many years, they have been totally devoted to each other. And last night and this morning their world totally changed.

In conclusion, it is hard to comprehend the change. Judy Matney died this morning after an intense night of treatment. Now is the time to reflect, remember, and celebrate. Bob's world, after so many years, has totally changed in those final moments. I invite you to carry Bob Matney, and his family, in your positive thoughts and prayers over the next many days as they adjust to that transformed life
