Judith, “Judy” Stover, 85, of Derby, KS, passed away peacefully at home on March 13, 2025. She was born on June 25, 1939, in Iola, KS to parents Dorothy and William L. Dreher.
Judy is survived by sons Doug Stover, Tim Stover, and Scott Stover (Katrina), and Daughter Julie Stover; grandchildren Connor Stover, Effie Judith Stover, Eleanor, and Clyde Keck; brother Will Dreher (Jim McIntosh); sister Cheryl Ellis, and neice Janie Turner (Dexter). She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Stover, son Rick Stover, her father and mother, and brother John.
Judy worked at Derby Middle School for 20 years and was an active member of the Derby Community and Woodlawn United Methodist Church. She and Jack never missed a Derby Football game and were avid supporters of all things Derby. She never met a stranger and always did her best to help get those new to the community or to her church, connected. She was instrumental in connecting Woodlawn United Methodist Church and the Derby Food Bank and spent many years working with many in the community to support such a needed organization.
The family will hold a visitation at Smith Mortuary in Derby on Friday, March 28 from 5-7pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 29 at 12:00 at Woodlawn United Methodist Church, Derby, KS.
