Judith Ann Schrader, 85, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026. She was born on March 21, 1941, in Lebo, Kansas, to Lee and Edith Johnson.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, William "Bill" Schrader.
She is survived by her children, Gail (Tom) Schmeidler of Derby, Kansas, and Keith (Dianna) Lashley of Edmond, Oklahoma; her siblings, Janice (Lyle) Taylor and Gary (Beverly) Johnson. She was blessed to have six grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Judy cherished time spent with family and friends and had a special love for animals, sharing her life with a menagerie of pets over the years. She and Bill embraced life to the fullest, enjoying everything from antiquing adventures to travels near and far. Judy found great joy her hobbies, especially with ceramics and quilting, through which she formed and valued lasting friendships. She was an active member of the Rose Hill Quilt Guild and contributed her talents to numerous charitable projects. Family Christmas’ were made even more special by her tradition of hand-painting ceramic ornaments and big bags of her special "medicine", party mix.
An Open House Celebration of Life will be held between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at 6854 S. Greenwich Road, Derby, KS 67037. Guests are invited to come and go and dress in summer casual attire. Cards and memories may be sent to the address above. She will be laid to rest at a later date in Burlington Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Judy's honor to the animal shelter of your choice.
