Judith “Judy” Cook, age 83, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025. She was born on November 18, 1941, in Hays, Kansas, to Donald and Lula Brown.
Judy attended Wichita Business College and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. She later worked with the Mulvane School System’s Latch Key Program, where she touched the lives of many children before retiring.
Judy had a deep love for her family and found great joy in gatherings filled with laughter and love. She adored children and had a special appreciation for beautiful flowers. With her gentle spirit and warm smile, Judy was truly a ray of sunshine to everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Kenneth and Karen; and her beloved granddaughter, Elizabeth Michelle Peck.
Judy is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Fred; her children, Bryan (Christina) Cook and Kimberly (Michael) Peck; her brother, Dennis (Karen) Brown; and her cherished grandchildren, Shannon Peck, Hannah Cook, and Logan Cook.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Mulvane Christian Church, 502 Highland Park Dr., Mulvane, KS 67110. Burial will follow at Mulvane Cemetery.
In honor of Judy’s memory, memorial contributions may be made to the Mulvane Senior Center, 632 E Mulvane St., Mulvane, KS 67110.
