Juanita P. Mork, 86, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Juanita was called home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, surrounded by the love and prayers of her family.
Juanita was born in Wichita, KS on December 30, 1938 to Harry Love and Mildred (Frizelle) Love. She married Francis Mork on June 17, 1957 and they shared their life together for 45 years until his death in 2003.
Preceded in death by both parents Harry & Mildred Love; husband Francis Mork; Son Clifton Webb Mork; Grandsons Benjamin Mork, Gage Mork; Granddaughter GraceLynn Mork; Brothers Jimmy Love, David Love, Leslie Dale Love; Sisters Florence Cleghorn, Anna Conner.
Survivors: Sons Anthony Mork, Robert Mork (Kendra), Jeff Mork (Lynn), Mark Mork; Daughter Vickie Oliphant (Donald) all from the Wichita Area; Sister Rosalee Knight of Phoenix, AZ; Brother Lloyd Eugene Love (Debbie) of Wichita KS; 13 Grandchildren; 16 Great-Grandchildren.
Juanita lived a life of unwavering faith, boundless love and selfless service. She cared for her children as her husband, Francis, served time in the Navy. Starting in Rhode Island where their eldest son Anthony was born, then Virginia with the births of Robert then Vickie, and ending his Navy career in Texas. They moved back to Wichita, the birthplace of both Juanita & Francis, and eventually giving birth to Jeffrey. Juanita's greatest joy was her family, whom she cherished deeply and guided with her stedfast devotion. She was very active in the lives of her children, volunteering in school, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Sport events, Vacation Bible School and many church sponsored programs. Once her children started their own families she extended her caring heart far beyond her home, touching countless lives with her kindness, wisdom and generosity. She began her ministry through foster parenting and cared for many children throughout those years. It was during these years that Mark was placed into her care. After many years of fostering him, Juanita and Francis made the decision to adopt him and bring Mark officially into the family. Whether through her gentle words, warm meals, or compassionate deeds, Juanita embodied the spirit of Christ in all she did.
A woman of profound faith, Juanita was an active member of Westview Baptist Church, where she found joy in worship, prayer, and fellowship. Her faith in God was the foundation of her life and a guiding light to all who knew her.
Though our hearts ache with her absence, we rejoice in the assurance that she has found eternal peace in the presence of her Savior. Her legacy of love, faith, and service will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Services to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, 10 am at Westview Baptist Church, 1325 S Meridian Ave, Wichita KS, 67213. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Westview Baptist Church for their ministries in her honor.
Rest in peace, Juanita. Your love will forever be our strength.
