Joyce S. Swim

Swim, Joyce S., 92, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2015. She is survived by her daughters Janet S. Higgins, of Derby and Kathy L. Hilmers of Tomball, TX; grandchildren, Stephanie R. Higgins (Benjamin J. Gray) of Scottsdale, AZ and Shawn Higgins of Derby; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Alden Gray; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce was born February 17, 1923 in Council Grove, KS to Roy and Fern (Cress) Sharp, and was married to William C. Swim, who preceded her in death. She is also predeceased by her sisters Helen E. Gutsch, June M. Warren, Virginia F. Malia, Mary E. Lee and Royalyn J. Sharp; as well as her sons-in-law Marvin W. Higgins and Dennis R. Hilmers. Joyce was a member of Woodlawn UMC and had a gentle and loving heart. Memorial contributions may be made to Derby Senior Services, Afternoon Bridge Group, 611 N Mulberry Rd #100, Derby, KS 67037. Graveside services for family members will be held in Council Grove.
