Joshua Addison of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on May 13, 2026, at the age of 51. He was born in Dodge City, Kansas, on January 1, 1975, making his entrance into the world as the first baby of the new year. He was the son of Aleta Sobba of Wichita, Kansas, and Rich Addison of Wellington, Kansas.
Josh graduated from West High School in Wichita and continued his education through WTI. He later earned his associate degree from Dakota State University in 2019. A lifelong computer enthusiast, Josh turned his passion for technology into a career in telecommunications, working with Nortel Networks and spending the last 15 years with Verizon Wireless.
Josh had a curious mind, a creative spirit, and a love for the worlds he could build, explore, and bring to life. Whether he was gaming on his PC, working on models, 3D printing something new, or gathering around a table for Dungeons & Dragons, Josh enjoyed the kind of hobbies that let imagination take the lead. He was a true fan of fantasy, technology, and anything that gave him the chance to create, tinker, or level up.
He also had a soft spot for his fur babies and loved his dogs Evie, Sasha, Bella, and Daisy May. They were a special part of his life and brought him comfort, companionship, and plenty of joy.
Josh is survived by his parents, Aleta Sobba and Rich Addison; his younger brother, Beau Addison; his niece, Kaylee Addison; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Services will be held privately. His remains will be laid to rest in the family plot in Fowler, Kansas, at a later date. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
