Queen (Karissa Ceynar), of Wichita; daughters, Lisa Marie Brenon, of Lubbock, TX, Theresa Shapley, of Wellington, Michelle Randolph (Jay), of Clearwater, Angela Moore (Michael), of Wellington, Sarah Downey (Robert), of Wichita; brother, Charles Marx, of Wellington; and 14 grandchildren. A memorial has been established with the Bartlett Arboretum, P.O. Box 871, Belle Plaine, KS 67013. Josephine spent the majority of her life as a homemaker, a mother, and a loving wife of almost 52 years. She was incredibly dedicated to caring for her family and always put others needs before her own. She had her hands full from sun up to sun down cooking, cleaning and caring for her seven children. However, Josephine also had a very adventurous side and always managed to find some time for fun, despite her busy life. One of her many passions in life was her love for the outdoors and nature. Josephine loved going on hikes and bike rides with her children, fishing, camping, and calm quiet evenings of birdwatching. Another passion in Josephine’s life was gardening. She loved planting flowers and vegetable gardens. Josephine had an unbelievably green thumb and could grow anything! She always had the most beautiful rose bushes. Josephine was also a very compassionate person and had a love for all living things. Anytime she came across an injured animal, Josephine would bring it home and nurse it back to health. Believe it or not this happened quite frequently and with many different types of animals. The animals ranged from many different types of birds, to baby rabbits, snakes, dogs, cats, and even a bat! Josephine had a very witty sense of humor and loved to make her family laugh. She would often make jokes, funny faces, or have spontaneous tickle sessions just to see smiles and hear the joyous sounds of her children’s laugher. Josephine’s love and passion for life will be greatly missed. She taught her family how to have patience and grace, how to love deeply and selflessly, and how to always make time for fun and laughter. These amazing memories of Josephine will be cherished in our hearts forever. Proverbs 31:28-29. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.
