Joseph C. Merseal

Merseal, Joseph C., 85, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014. He was born September 13, 1928 to Rossie and Ruth (Curtis) Merseal in Farmington, MO. Joseph was a member of VFW Post 7253 and a former city councilman. He coached football and baseball and was a co-founder of Derby Jr. Football. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters; and 3 brothers. Joseph is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lu Merseal; children, Jim (Cathy) Merseal and Ann Epperson; grandchildren, Jasson Merseal, Steven (Katie) Merseal, Shaun (Courtney) Merseal, Laura (Ryan) Croley; and Kyle Epperson; and great-grandchildren, Julie Merseal, Emily Merseal, Kinley Merseal, Zoey Merseal, and Breckyn Croley. Memorial Service: 10 am, Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Smith Mortuary of Derby. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with Alzheimer’s Association, 1820 E. Douglas, Wichita, KS 67214.
