Mulvane - Cusick, Joseph Baxter, 79, died Thursday, October 28, 2021. He was a devoted husband and father, and dearly loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was a design engineer at Tweco for 23 years. After that his entrepreneurship began with CAFCO Awning Company followed by PAC-MIG, Inc. He retired to Grand Lake in Oklahoma in 2010. He enjoyed being in the outdoors camping, fishing, and going to the mountains. He loved woodworking and always looked forward to making the annual Christmas gifts for his children.
Visitation: Wednesday, November 3, 2021, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and Funeral Service: 2:00 pm, Thursday, November 4, 2021, both at Smith Mortuary, Mulvane. Interment to follow at Mulvane Cemetery, Mulvane.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.B, and Delores Cusick; and a brother, Richard Cusick.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Josie; three children, Brian (Sonja) Cusick, Darren (Toni) Cusick, and Shannon (Casey) Myers; 10 grandchildren, Brett, Blake, Brent, Tanner, Taylor, and Cole Cusick, Steven and Kyle Smith, and Avrie and Makaylen Warner; four great grandchildren, Emalee, Branch, Joey, and Eli Cusick; and three siblings, Eddie (Janice) Cusick, George (Nina) Cusick, and Kathy Nelson.
In lieu of flowers memorials have been established with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 3450 N Rock Rd # 204, Wichita, KS 67226.
