December 25, 1949 — September 30, 2021

Joseph Alan Barclay passed away peacefully Thursday September 30, 2021 surrounded by his family. Joe was born in Kansas City, KS December 25, 1949 to Alan and Opal Barclay. He was a graduate of Turner High School where he played sports and was a member of the National Honor Society. After attending Kansas State University, Joe worked hard and provided well for his family. He was a proud employee of House of Glass in Newton, KS for 10 years. He then worked for Spirit AeroSystems where he retired after 15 years in March of 2020. Joe had a quiet wisdom and was quick witted. He loved spending time with and doing things for his grandkids . Joe and his wife Carrol took every grandchild to Disney World. He adored his wife Carrol whom he called his Favorite. They were always grateful for each other and set a good example for their family. He had a strong faith and He and Carrol are members of Grace Communion Church in Derby. Joe is survived by his wife Carrol Beth , sons Tim Barclay and partner Sheila Blake, Rob Williams and wife Celest, daughters Paula Todd and husband Jeff, Teresa Harms and husband Dan, Ami Wilson and husband Dennis, Cherith Karsak and husband Eric, and 20 grandkids and 7 great grandkids. He is also survived by his mother and all his siblings.


The family will receive friends and family at a viewing Wednesday, October 6, from 4-8 at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby, KS . Funeral Services will be Thursday 10:30 am also at Smith Family Mortuary.
