Jose R. Martinez, "Joe", age 93, of Derby, retired Cargill employee, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016. Visitation 1-8 PM Wednesday, and 10 AM - 5 PM Thursday, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. His family will receive friends at the mortuary 5-7 PM Wednesday. Vigil Service 7 PM Thursday, Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Friday, both at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2300 E. Meadowlark, Derby. Jose is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Joe, his infant daughter, Linda Sue, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Survivors include his wife, Josephine; sons, Albert Martinez (Pam), of Wichita, and Andrew Martinez, of Supulpa, OK; daughters, Delly Baron (Jeff), of Lafayette, CO, and Mary Caudell (Tom), of Derby; brother, Alberto Martinez (Martha), of Mexico City; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
