Jones Martin Mason

Jones Martin Mason, age 87, of Mulvane, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012. Visitation 1-8 PM Wednesday with family receiving friends 6-8 PM, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Funeral service 10 AM Thursday, July 19, 2012, Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Mulvane. Interment will follow the service at Mulvane Cemetery. Jones was born July 7, 1925 in Kansas City, MO to John & Beulah Mason. He grew up near Pattonsburg, MO. He is a retired math teacher and school administrator. He married Clarene Idell Michel September 1, 1947 in Eads, CO. He was active in many organizations, including Mulvane Masonic Lodge, Order of the Amaranth, Kansas Order of True Kindred, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Order of the Eastern Star, Isis Shrine, Scottish Rite Masons, York Rite Masons, Job’s Daughters International, as well as the American Legion, VFW, and Odd Fellows. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a brother, Kenneth. Survivors include his children Devon (Judy), Paris TX, Darlene Jefferies (Randy), McFall, MO, Deval (Barbara), Winston Salem, NC and Darin (Theresa), Mulvane; brother, Glenn (Margaret), Bethany, MO; sister, Vonda Gillespie (Russell), Albany, MO; sister-in-law, Mary Mason, Pattonsburg, MO; 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
