Carey Younkin

Wichita - Younkin, Jon "Carey" 60, passed away Monday, May 8th, 2023. He was born May 29th, 1962 to Everett and Irene (Bailey) Younkin in Herrin, Illinois. Carey was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle & friend. He enjoyed motorcycles and playing guitar. Carey was also a music trivia expert and was a 20 year volunteer fire fighter in Derby & Vassar KS and Roodhouse, Ill. Carey was very outgoing & never knew a stranger, and had a catalogue of inappropriate jokes and comebacks. He was a very good salesman and was currently working for Intergrated Power Services in Wichita, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Eric Younkin; brother-in-law: Bill Reagor.

Carey is survived by his Wife of 40 years, Ann (McIver) Younkin of Wichita; Children: Jennifer (Mike)- Chief Master Sgt. (USAF Ret) Shupert & Tech Sgt. Timothy James "Jamie" Younkin, USAF; Grandchildren: Brittany (Staff Sgt. Terrance, USAF) Krueger, Skylar (Chase) Gartner, Sydnie "Willie" Shupert, Alexis Painter & Talon Shupert; Siblings: Claudia Reagor, Brent (Donna) Younkin; parents-in-law: Tim & Libby McIver; sisters-in-law: Sherri (John) Hanysz & Cheryl Younkin; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives & friends.

Visitation: Saturday, May 13th, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Smith Mortuary, Derby. Celebration of Life: 3:00 pm Saturday, May 13th, 2023 at Smith Mortuary, Derby 1415 North Rock Road Derby, Kansas 67037.
