Jon F. Jeffreys, 80, retired from the Wichita Public Schools, Security Systems and Operations, joined his beloved wife in heaven on March 2, 2024.
Jon was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. Jon was a collector of many things including: beer steins, buckles, rocks, radios, antiques, cameras, coins and more. He enjoyed making knives, jewelry, one of a kind home decor, and in his later years creating artwork using everyday objects. He enjoyed classical music, watching car races on TV and watching the Army/Navy game annually with Bob, his best friend since childhood. He was very proud of his red '68 camaro that he restored with the help of his nephew. But most important to Jon was his family.
Survivors include: daughters Karla Smith of Grand Junction, CO; Paula Smith (Steve) of OKC; Melany Lundgren (Derek) of Wichita; brother Geo (Diana) of Fayetteville, NC; and sister Sue Thompson of Cedar Hill, TX; grandchildren: Nicole, Breanna (Nate), Matthew, Nathan, Meghan, Dereck and Melanie; 2 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Venita; parents Sam and Alta Jeffreys; brothers Charles Jeffreys and Jack Jeffreys.
