John Phelps

John A. Phelps was born into this life on October 3rd, 1956 and was taken to his Heavenly Home on October 10, 2020. He was a 1974 graduate of Derby High School. His parents Ron and Barbara Phelps, now deceased, settled in Derby after retiring from the military. John was an outdoorsman and loved the time he had spending free time camping and fishing. Never one to sit idle for long, he tried his hand at many different jobs and was successful at learning them quickly. His many enjoyments went from sales clerk to driving 18 wheelers vehicles of which he became quite an expert. He salvaged many vehicles that most would have easily given up on. He leaves behind to mourn his passing: Karla Copeland of the home; his son, John Anthony Phelps and family; his sister, Charmagne Kissinger and family; brother Don Phelps and family; and sister, Laura Kersting and family. He also leaves numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Last but not least numerous friends and acquaintances too numerous to list. Cremation has already taken place. Private ceremony to be held at a later date.
