Overman, Jr., John W., 72, retired Carpenters Union Representative/Organizer, and Boeing Tool Grinder, died Tuesday, October 12, 2010. John was a member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Houston Organizing Project with AFL-CIO, Kansas president of AFL-CIO 1976-1981, business Representative Director of Wichita Machinists Union 1966-1980, North Star Lodge #168, Midian Shrine Temple and Wichita Scottish Rite, York Rite, OES, Past Chief of Camelherder Unit. He is preceded in death by his father John and nephew Gary Robison. Survivors: wife, Linda; daughters, Debra (Michael) Skelton, Terri Lanier; step-daughters, Amy Ludwa, Jinny Ludwa, all of Wichita; mother, Opal Overman and sister, Sally (John) Robison all of Oswego; grandchildren, Lutitia (Will) Holmes of Eielson AFB, AK, Nichole Krenzer of Ponca City, OK, Mayson Lanier and Callie Ludwa, both of Wichita; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Savannah Holmes; Memorials to Heartland Hospice. Viewing: 2-8pm, Thursday with family present from 6-8pm, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Service: 10am, Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, South City Southern Baptist Church, 1513 South Galena, Wichita, Ks.
