John E. Nelson, 60, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017. He was born March 12, 1957 to Charles and Willie (Allred) Nelson in El Dorado, KS. John worked as an Engineering Technician for the Geology Department of KDOT. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Duane Nelson. John is survived by his sister, Kathy Leonard; niece, Kristie (Mike) Caskey; nephew, Vaughn Montgomery; great-nieces, Mya and Aleah; and great-nephews, Ian and Cree. Memorial Service: 2 pm, Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Smith Mortuary - Haysville, 7031 S. Broadway, Haysville, KS 67060.
