John Galan Moler, 90, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. A Celebration of Life Service, with military honors, will be held at Faith Community Church, 1750 N. Gow, at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. A graveside service will follow at 12 p.m. at White Chapel Cemetery, 1806 N. Oliver.
During John's service for the U. S. Army, he was stationed in Germany. Upon his return, he owned a filling station and auto repair shop. John subsequently managed the downtown branch of Moler's Camera until he opened his own camera store which he successfully operated as Downtown Camera until his retirement at the age of 69. John was an avid fisherman, a proud member of the local Thunderbird Club, and a serious lover of German Shepherds. Like his father and youngest brother, he loved being a pilot. Since his youth, he had been interested in collecting and flying both gasoline powered and radio controlled model airplanes. John was extremely knowledgeable about military aircraft, especially those of the W.W. II era.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Orville D. and Helen Eilert Moler, and by his brother, Alan Douglas Moler. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Penna Moler, by nine nieces and nephews and by eighteen great nieces and nephews.
