DERBY - Kill, John Joseph, Age 80, retired Southwestern Bell employee, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016. Visitation 1-8 pm Tuesday, October 25, with family receiving friends 5-7 pm, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Funeral service 1 pm Wednesday, October 26, Pleasantview Baptist Church, 1335 N. Buckner, Derby. John is preceded in death by his wife, Clara; parents, Fred & Wilma Kill; brothers, Fred and Rick Kill; and his sister, Ruth Poteete. Survivors include his son, Jeff Kill (Deborah), of Rose Hill; daughters, Vicki Phillips (Troy) and Kim Smith (Mark), all of Derby; sister, Terri Bleil, Nixa, MO; grandchildren, Matthew Phillips (Bethany), Amy Windsor (Zak), Carissa Beckner (James), Chris Smith (Tara), Jeremy Smith, (Kana), Zach Kill, Aaron Kill, Kelsea Kill; 7 great-grandchildren.
