Haysville - Griffith, John 80, died Tuesday, February 4th, 2025.
John was born June 14th, 1944 in Eureka,Kansas to John and Bertha Griffith.
John and Joyce eloped to Miami, Oklahoma, on October 6, 1962. He had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, and the thrill of towing family and friends on tubes or skis behind whichever boat he owned at the time. An avid enthusiast of classic cars and motorcycles, he took great pride in restoring vintage vehicles and riding.
He was a dedicated participant in the annual Wichita Toy Runs for Summer and Sedgwick counties, collecting badges from each event he attended. Known for his quick wit and humor, he had an unwavering ability to lift spirits, even in the most challenging times.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of kindness, humor, and passion for life will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Though he is no longer with us, the memories he created and the joy he brought to others will never be forgotten.
He is preceded in death by his father John Griffith, mother Bertha Smith, sister Inez Dixon, brother Claude Griffith, daughter Juline Griffith. John is survived by his wife Joyce Griffith, daughter Bonita Bosley, granddaughter Heather McLeod, grandson Gage Webb, and great grandsons Rory and Weston.
Visitation will be held on Fri. Feb. 7, 2025, from 4pm to 6pm at Smith Family Mortuary 1415 North Rock Road Derby, Kansas 67037.
