John was called home by our Creator on August 17, 2017. He was born August 5, 1958 in El Dorado, KS. John lived in various places including Missouri, Arizona, and Kansas throughout his childhood, and later moved to South Korea with his parents as a young adult. Returning to the U.S. in 1982, he made Kansas his home. While attending Wichita State University, John worked as a paramedic where his passion for helping others was realized. In 2001, John met his soulmate, Lonetta, whom he stated numerous times that he “loved her more than air”. John’s work experiences led him to owning a construction business and co-founder of Walk in Peace Ranch. His thirst for caring and helping others led him back to school in 2009 receiving his LPN license. His desire to acquire a Bachelor of Science in Nursing was cut short with a lung cancer diagnosis in 2015. John’s interests were eclectic. His hobbies included being a voracious reader, an avid fisherman, an accomplished carpenter, and dabbled as a drummer and vocalist in a band. John and Lonetta enjoyed traveling abroad, but the Hopi Reservation and Yellowstone were among his favorites. However, he was most comfortable in the quiet of his home. John is survived by his soulmate, Lonetta; children, Devin and Tanner Edwards; brothers, Steve and Derryl (Jill) Brack. He is preceded in death by his parents, Darryl and Billie Louise; sister, Dara Brack.
