Joann Mccandless

JoAnn McCandless, 74, passed away Monday, August 17, 2015. Visitation Thursday, 1-8 p.m. (family present 6-8), at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Funeral service 2 p.m. Friday, at Woodlawn United Methodist Church, 431 S. Woodlawn Blvd., Derby. JoAnn was a beloved wife, mother, and friend. After retirement, she kept busy as a hospice volunteer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ann Peshon, and son Ricky Thames. Survived by husband Don McCandless; sons Chris (Natalie) McCandless, Frisco, TX, and Trey (Susie) McCandless, Wichita; grandchildren Amber (Daniel) Spencer, Lisa Begley, Josh (Jesse) Furthmeyer, Timmy Smith, Ricky Thames, Kelsey & Kirby McCandless, and 10 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202.
