Jerry W. Aubuchon, age 78, was called home to be with the Lord on October 8, 2016. Visitation 1-8pm Wednesday; family greeting 5-7pm at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road Derby. Funeral 11AM Thursday, October 13, at Rose Hill Methodist Church 19551 SW Butler Rd Rose Hill, Ks 67133. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Nora Aubuchon; 4 siblings, Buddy Aubuchon, Dorothy Gentry, Lucille Bigelow, Becky Aubuchon. Jerry is survived by sons, Stephen (Donella), Michael (Rita); 10 grandchildren, Bobby Lipp, Ashley (Andrew) Pompa, Josh Aubuchon, Michaela (Ben) Daniels, Brandon Aubuchon, Logan Aubuchon, McKenna Aubuchon, Kameron Stephens, Kailey Stephens ; 4 great-grandchildren. Jerry was a United States Air Force Retiree, serving 20 years, and Veteran of the Vietnam War. Growing up in the small town of Vandalia, Missouri in the 1940’s, opportunities were what you made of them and Jerry enlisted in the Air Force at age 17. He married, had two sons, served his country a full 20 years and then went to college to complete his Bachelor’s Degree from Wichita State University. Jerry worked in Aerospace for both Cessna and The Boeing Company, retiring from The Boeing Company. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is with The Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758516 Topeka, KS 66675.
