Jennifer Mcdonald

January 26, 1984 — August 31, 2021

Jennifer Lynn McDonald (Garcia)

Jennifer was called home to be with God in Heaven on August 31, 2021. She passed away at home in the company of loved ones while continuing to battle cancer after a nearly 5 year long diagnosis. She was a loving wife, mother, step-mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin and friend.

Jennifer was born on January 26, 1984 in Holdenville, OK to Kenny Davis and Kimberly (Davis) Novacek. She lived in Holdenville until the age of 4, ultimately moving to Wichita, KS. Jennifer graduated high school from Wichita Northwest High in 2002 and ultimately went to nursing school to become an RN. She spent time working in the Emergency Dept, Labor and Delivery, and Inpatient Services, but discovered her nursing passion in Hospice care, where she spent the remainder of her nursing career. As a nurse, Jennifer was described as passionate, caring, and thorough. She had a way of connecting with patients that would help them feel at ease knowing they were receiving the care they deserved.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Roy W. and Judy Tinker.

Jennifer is survived by her best friend and husband Mike McDonald; Daughters Gillian Garcia and Gracelyn Garcia; Step Sons Brayden McDonald and Gannon McDonald; Parents Kimberly Novacek (Joe Novacek), and Kenny Davis (Dee Grizzle); Grandparents Richard and Susan Madri, Jerry and Nyoka Davis; Sisters Kylie Garner and family, Ashley Cordle and family, Abbi Crochet family; Aunts Shawn Richmond, Minisa Wheeler, Tina Ring; Cousins Mikayla Richmond, Layton Richmond, Madyson Richmond, Tasha Tate, Amber Hensley and their families; as well as other cousins, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Jennifer was a good soul and adored by many. She loved being a mother to her children and a wife to her husband Mike. She had so much love in her heart and it showed every day of her precious life. She had a way of making others feel loved and uplifted, even though she might not have always known just how much she impacted others. She refused to give up to cancer and fought until the last day. Although she never became cancer free, she refused to let her diagnosis take away her happiness, or her will to love, laugh and live. She was a fighter and an inspiration to many and she will forever be dearly missed.
