Jeffrey Paul Beam

Died: September 2, 2022, in Wichita, KS.

Jeff Beam, age 61, of Derby, KS, passed away unexpectedly at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS. He was born in St. Louis, MO, the son of Ralph and Lois (Brinkhoff) Beam.

Jeff grew up in St. Louis, MO/Basking Ridge, NJ/Overland Park, KS. He was a National Merit Finalist graduating from SMS High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kansas in 1982. After graduation, Jeff went directly to work at Boeing Company in Wichita, KS. He was still employed at Boeing at the time of his death. He was a long-time member of the technical publications team at Boeing and the last several years supported the International 767 Tankers and Legacy Tankers Programs.

He enjoyed reading (Science Fiction/Fantasy were his favorites), playing piano, hiking trips with his brother Phil, and spending time with his family, friends, and pets.

Memorial Service: 2:00 pm, Monday, October 3, 2022, at Smith Mortuary, Derby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph E. Beam Jr and Lois L. Beam.

Jeff is survived by his three siblings, Ralph W. Beam; Philip A. Beam, and Betty Macek; stepmother, Mary Beam; stepsisters, Karen Burns and Marcia Swinney-Shay; six nieces and nephews, Ralph, Katie, Irene Ann, Robert, Courtney, and Tyler.

Memorials have been established with the Sedgwick County Zoo or the American Heart Association.
