Jeff Waldschmidt

Waldschmidt, Jeff, 48, Boeing/Spirit Aerosystems engineer of 26 years, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011, following a battle with brain cancer. Memorial service 1 p.m. Monday at First Christian Church PowerHouse, 302 N. Georgie, Derby. Celebration of life to follow. Jeff was a proud Boy Scout, recipient of the Eagle Award and an active member of the Derby Optimist Club. He is survived by his wife, Sandy; son J.W., step-daughter Ellecia Volm-Lovett (Chris); grandchildren Carlie and Jack; all of Derby; parents Jack and June Waldschmidt; brother Gary (Dianne) Waldschmidt, sisters Vickie (Arun) Gore, Rachel (Kent) Coleman; and 9 nieces and nephews. A memorial has been established with Boy Scout Troop 692, c/o Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby, KS 67037.
