Jeanne Berg

Berg, Jeanne, 98, passed away on June 26, 2026. She was born in Douglass, Kansas on October 23, 1927 to Earl and Mary Carl.

Jeanne loved to dance! For about the last 10 - 15 years before she was confined to her wheelchair, she would go at least once a week to the dances at the senior centers. She drove herself and enjoyed the music and dancing immensely. She also really enjoyed card games with friends. Prior to moving from her home in Douglass, she also loved to garden in the summer and keep her wood stove going in the winter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Phyllis Gibbons, Jack Carl, and Melba Beckner.

Jeanne is survived by her children, Jackie (Lynn) Shank and Rod Berg; grandchildren, Tony Lee, Scott (Heather) Shank, Jesse (Amy Berry) Shank; great-grandchildren, Jay (Anna) Shank, Ellie (Connor) Gaunt, Madison Shank, Jonas and Ivan Shank, Marley Shank; and numerous step grandchildren;

A visitation will be held from 5:00pm – 7:00pm Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Funeral service is 10:00am Thursday, July 2, 2026, both at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby, Kansas 67037. Internment to follow at Douglass Cemetery.
