Jean Markham

Dorothy “Jean” Markham, 90, passed away June 6, 2016. She was born October 2, 1925 to Jacob Allen and Mable Olive (Craige) Grove in Colby, Kansas. Jean was a woman of God and a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Haysville for 25 years. She was a talented seamstress. Jean was a wonderful wife, mother, friend, and a very loving grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of nearly 70 years, Richard in 2015; granddaughter, Amy Sue Hunter; and 3 siblings. Jean is survived by her daughters, Cathy (James “Skip”) Draper and Linda (Bob) Choura; brother, Ron Grove; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. Funeral: 11 am, Thursday, June 9, 2016 with visitation 1 hour prior at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby, KS 67037. Interment to follow at El Paso Cemetery in Derby. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 125 S. Delos Ave., Haysville, KS 67060.
