Jd "Judean" Raymond Lautt

JD “JuDean” Raymond Lautt of Wichita, KS, entered into his heavenly home August 9, 2022, at the young age of 82.

JD was born May 10, 1940, to Raymond and Alice (Kraft) Lautt in Harvey, North Dakota. He was raised in North Dakota with his sister, Vonda Lee and brother, Darnell. In 1969, he and his family moved to Kansas.

JD is a forever faithful servant to his Lord and Savior. He was a devoted, loving dad to his five children, Dondi Ray, Sharissa Kay, Stacy Jay, Stephanie May, and Terissa Fay. He was a devoted and loved granddad to his ten grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He had many other family members, whom he loved dearly.

On November 26, 1994, he married Carol Hohlfeld. Her two sons, Dwight (Kristy), Kent, and granddaughter, Sarah, joined his family.

JD was a hard worker, who dearly loved his career, coworkers, and friends. He worked as a much-loved groundskeeper at Wichita East High School for the past 42 years and was set to retire his final time on August 31, 2022.

He loved people and never met a stranger. His hobbies included traveling and coin collecting. He had a vast collection of toy tractors, which he started at the age of 16 and continued up until his passing.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Dondi Ray; his parents, Raymond and Alice; sister Vonda Lee; and his wife of 27 years, Carol.

Visitation will be 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the family present from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday August 14, 2022, at Smith Mortuary, Derby. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Monday, August 15, 2022, at Central Community Church, 6100 W Maple St., Wichita.
