Jay Charles DeVarennes, age 54, of Derby, former owner and operator of Derby Custom Muffler Shop, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016. No visitation. Recitation of the Rosary 10 am Friday, December 16, with the Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:30 am, both at St. Michael Catholic Church, 525 E Main, Mulvane. Jay is preceded in death by his father, Raymond DeVarennes. Survivors include his mother, Lydia; brothers, Marc (Joyce), of Cottage Grove, MN, and Matt (Marty), of Mansfield, TX; sister, Andrea Estevez (Steve Weaver), of Kansas City, MO; nephews and nieces, Stephen, Alyssa, Katelyn, Madeleine and Maxwell DeVarennes, Mason Estevez; and numerous cousins.
