Janet Louise Hemel

Janet Hemel, 74, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. 

Visitation and Family Remembrance will be held from 6 to 8 pm at Culbertson - Smith Mortuary, 115 S. Seneca Wichita, KS, on Monday, June 1st, 2026. Graveside Service will be 10 am, Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026 at Branson Cemetery, 4798 S. Greenwich Road, Derby, KS. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Harold & Wilma Durham, brother, Rodney Durham, brother in law Mark Whinery, Sisters Karen Durham and Lila Taylor, Survived by: Sons, Bradley Hemel, Bryan Hemel, Brandon Hemel daughter Jenny Hemel, Grand children. Derek and Megan Hemel, Matthew, Abbigail and Alyssa Beckham, Brianna, Braden and Bonnie Sue Hemel, Jasmine Chessher. Great grandchildren; Hunter, Maggie, Jackson, and Lillian Chessher, Kylen Hershberger, and Kinslee Hemel. As well as her sisters, Sherry Whinery and Diana Coldiron; her Brother, RJ Brassfeild. Nieces & nephews; Zachariah & Angel Durham, Michael & Lacy Whinery, Hayley Whinery, Randall and Lynnette Coffman, Stephanie Ebbs, Heather Brassfeild, Pamela Durham, Rodney Joe Durham, Patricia Brand, Dominic Antonini. As well as many great nieces and nephews.
