Jane Hathaway

August 7, 1941 — December 26, 2024

Jane Hathaway, longtime resident of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on December 26, 2024, at the age of 83.

Born August 7, 1941, in Alva, Oklahoma, to Edward and Ellen Curry. Later in life, Jane moved to Wichita, Kansas, where she raised her family and spent three decades building aircraft at Raytheon Beechcraft. Jane took immense pride in her vocation, demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication.

To those who knew her best, Jane was simply "Nana," a name that captured her nurturing and generous spirit. Nana was celebrated for her signature curly hair, her quick and sharp wit, and her vibrant, young-at-heart attitude. She had an insatiable love for books, devouring thousands of them throughout her life, and found joy and comfort in the stories they held. Movies, coffee, and children were among her greatest loves. Her warmth and affection knew no boundaries, as she treated everyone within her orbit as family, extending her heart to anyone in need of love and care.

As the cornerstone of her family, Nana’s wisdom and steadfast support guided multiple generations. Her legacy of love, laughter, and strength will forever be cherished by her family, including her son and daughter in law Brett and Genae Hathaway of Wichita, Kansas, and her grandson Alec Hathaway of Kansas City, Missouri. She is also survived by her brother Buddy Curry and grandchildren Nichole Anderson, Leanna Anderson, Javona Curry, great granddaughter Madeline Feverly and several nieces and nephews and extended family.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Dorla, Sue, Gail, Eddie, Allen, and Lelia, her two children Joyce and Dennis, her grandson Jason, and her former husband Carol Hathaway.

In an ode to Nana’s favorite Rod Stewart song, we take comfort in knowing that in our hearts, she will always remain "Forever Young."

Fulfilling her final wishes, there will be no formal service. Instead, Jane’s family will honor her memory by spreading her ashes in a place that held deep meaning to her.
