James L. Schroeder

James L. Schroeder was born on December 20th, 1970, to Dennis and Lynda Schroeder of Wichita, KS.

James moved to Iowa with his mother, Lynda, and his stepfather, Glenn Reedy as he started High School. James graduated High School in Bettendorf, IA and enlisted in the US Navy. James served aboard the Naval Destroyer, USS Caron, during Desert Storm and loved being in the Navy. James left the Navy after completing his enlistment and moved back to Wichita, KS. James enjoyed spending time with his children and was the biggest jokester you’d ever meet. He was a proud Pop Pop to Jaxx and Macie. James had many friends and always made a lasting impact on anyone he crossed paths with. He was also the world’s biggest Kansas City Chiefs fan, he never missed a game. James will always be remembered for his goofy personality and will forever be missed.

Survivors include his children, Reed Schroeder, Madison (Hanna Blaschke) Schroeder, Hannah Schroeder; parents, Glenn and Lynda Reedy; siblings, Joseph (Lisa) Schroeder, Mark (Sarah) Reedy, Erin (Payton) Jensen; stepchildren, Garett Marlow, Taylor Bulla, Peyton Bulla and 2 step-grandchildren, Jaxx and Macie.

Visitation is 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, May 16th, 2024 and memorial service is 11:00 am, Friday, May 17th, 2024, both at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 North Rock Road Derby, Kansas 67037.
