James Melton Reynolds

Reynolds, James Melton, 77, was born on September 10, 1938, in Wichita, Kansas to Mr. Les Reynolds and Mrs. Blanche (Voge) Reynolds. He departed this life on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, in Mulvane, Kansas. James graduated Arkansas City High School. As a young man, he was a very good basketball player, and was crowned basketball king and his future wife Deloris was queen. He married the former Deloris Jean Plush and they were the parents of three daughters: Diana, Dedra, and Danita. James served in the United States Navy, and was stationed in San Diego, California. He toured overseas in Japan. James was a life member of the VFW Post 7253 in Derby, Kansas, and a life member of the American Legion Post 136 in Mulvane, Kansas. James also had two children from a later marriage, James and Anita Reynolds. He worked in the aircraft industry, as an auto mechanic, and a bus barn Superintendent for the Mulvane School District. James enjoyed watching sports, western movies, fishing, and gardening with flowers. He liked to dance to country western music. He owned horses and coon dogs. James was preceded in death by his daughter Danita Jean Reynolds and sister Toby. He is survived by daughters Diana James and husband Marty, Dedra Crawford and husband Scott, brother Ronnie Reynolds and wife Linda, sister Patsi Lykins and husband George and sister Darlene Torres. James enjoyed life, especially spending time with his friends at the VFW and American Legion. A private family service will be held at a later date.
