James E. Nix

Nix, James E., 88, retired Boeing and Army Veteran, passed away on June 17, 2012. He was born June 27, 1923, in Henryetta, Okla. to Virgil V. Nix and Zola Mae Watson Nix. He married Lettie Jo Flood Nix on April 22, 1955. She passed away Sept. 30, 1998. A member of Church of God. He is survived by 3 step-daughters, Neva Ellis, Halstead, Lou Ann (Jack) Thomason, Loveland, Colo., Colleen (Jim) Manning, Franklin, Tex.; 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, and one sister, Virgie Mae (Walt) McKenzie, Broken Arrow, Okla. Preceded in death by parents, wife, 4 brothers, 1 sister, 1 son-in-law, 3 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 1 great-grandson, and 1 great-granddaughter. He loved to watch Oklahoma Sooners football games and Dallas Cowboys games. Funeral service 10 a.m. Wednesday, Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Visitation one hour prior to service.
