Rev. James T. Gooch, age 57, Senior Pastor, Viola Baptist Church, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Sunday, November 16, 2014. Visitation 1-8 PM Tuesday, Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, 115 S. Seneca. Funeral service 10 AM Wednesday, Viola Baptist Church, 116 Wilson, Viola. Interment will follow at Viola Cemetery. Jim is preceded in death by his brothers, Tom Schueneman and David Riddle. Survivors include his wife, Karen; sons, Kent, of Wichita, and Richard (Mary), of Derby; daughter, Jennifer Chumbley (Dan), of Goessel; stepson, Jeff Hazen (Bambi), of Wichita; parents, Olan & Jennie Lou Gooch, of Sanger, TX; brothers, Rodney Gooch, of Wichita, Duane Harb (Margaret), Tucumcari, NM, and Phillip Hubby; sister, Susan Drysdale, of Dallas, TX; 12 grandchildren; and his faithful friends, Buddy, Lilly, Macaroni and Charlotte.
