Age 59, of Stillwater, OK, passed away Sunday May 15, 2016.

Visitation 1-8 PM Thursday, May 26, with family receiving friends 5-7 PM, Funeral Service 2 PM Friday, May 27, both at Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home, 507 S. Maple, Douglass. James was born in Stillwater, OK, September 10, 1956. He lived most young life in Ripley, OK, and graduated from Ripley High School in 1975. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in Montana, returning home, after serving 4 years, to Ripley to care for his grandmother. After her death, he moved to Stillwater. James is preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Lurline Stollings; stepfather, Ralph Schroeder; and cousin, Don Pace. Survivors: mother, Joyce Schroeder; father and stepmother, Ed & Carol Birch; sister, Cheryl Hall (Charles); aunt, Millie Pace; nephew, Caleb Hall; nieces, Melissa Longenbaker (Christopher) and Ashley Hall; 2 great-nephews.
