Jackie Waters

Jacqueline R. Waters 70, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2025. She was born to Robert and Juanita Hively in Columbus, OH.

Jackie loved being a mom and poured her heart into her children's lives, always involved in their activities and serving faithfully with the PTA. She worked as the secretary at Nelson Elementary in Haysville, KS, where she was known for her warmth and kindness. Creative at her core, she had a natural talent for interior design and was endlessly crafty and artistic. One of her greatest joys was being a grandma, a role she cherished deeply.

Her passion for Girl Scouts shaped much of her life. She was a dedicated leader, camp director, and trainer who stayed actively involved in the organization for many years. Among fellow scouts and campers, she was lovingly known as "Puddles".

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Calvin Waters; and brother, John Hively

Jackie is survived by her children, Jason (Savana) Waters; and Nicci (Kenny) Stark; siblings, Jim Hively, Kim (Delbert) Johnston, and Jerry Hively; grandchildren, Rylie, and River; many neices and nephews.

Public Viewing will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 20th, and Funeral Service at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 21 both at Smith Family Mortuary 7031 S. Broadway Haysville, KS 67060
