Izora S. Knabe

Knabe, Izora S., 92, retired school teacher and librarian, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Visitation 1-8 p.m. (family present 6-8) Friday, May 15; funeral service 10:00 a.m. Saturday, both at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Izora was a loving mother that made sure all her children were educated. She was a longtime member of the Church of God of Anderson, Ind. Preceded in death by her husband, Paul Eugene Knabe and daughter Paula L. Knabe. Survived by children Sherril (Charles) Mapes of Wichita, Otis E. (Cathy) Knabe, Leon J. (Jan) Knabe, all of Derby; brother Eldon (Ruth) Brockelman; grandchildren Jeremy P. Mapes, Charles Mapes II, Kevin O. Knabe, Toni L. Drinkard, Amanda L. Hadley, Jesse A. Knabe, Christopher S. Knabe, Nicholas P. Knabe; and great-granddaughter Olivia Mae Knabe, as well as many extended family and friends.
