Irvin Palmer

August 11, 1927 — December 15, 2022

Revelation 14:13 Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.”

Irvin Dale Palmer, 95, gracefully and peacefully entered his heavenly home on December 15, 2022, after a valiant battle with multiple health issues. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggles and gave him peace for his life’s journey.

Irvin was born to the late William Albert and Sarah Ellen Palmer in Wichita, Kansas on August 11, 1927. He was born again at a spring revival in 1937 and this new life would be his lifelong strength. Irvin retired from Montgomery Wards Auto department after working as an auto mechanic for 21 years.

Irvin was blessed with a large and loving family. He married his best friend, Nadine Moore on October 5, 1946, in Camdenton, Missouri.

Irvin is survived by his wife, Nadine; his daughters Rita (Bud) Randall and Gena (Stan) Payeur and son John (Barbara) Palmer; nine grandchildren, Buddy (Stefanie) Randall, Johnathan (Jessica) Randall, Aaron (Melissa) Randall, Drew (Jennifer) Palmer, David (Kim) Palmer, Crystal (David) Bowser, Heather (Travis) Sharpe, Jesse Payeur, Kayla (Justin) Flatt and 22 great grandchildren and his sister, Dorothy Booher.

Irvin was very active in his local church, senior center and delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. Irvin was a true servant of God and faithfully served his wife and family. He gathered his strength from the authority of God's Word and everything he did was to glorify God. He has “fought the good fight, finished the race and has kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day.” (2Timothy 4:7-8). He left a sound legacy of how to live. He has now entered the rest that only his Lord could give and who has graciously prepared for him. He has come to the time for which he lived, however this is certainly not the end, but only the beginning. Our comfort lies in the truth...."Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord." His life and memory are powerful inspirations!

An open visitation is scheduled from 2:00 – 4:00pm Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Smith Family Mortuary in Haysville, KS. A homecoming service for Irvin will be conducted at 1:30 pm, Wednesday, December 21, 2022. Chares Hollingsworth from First Baptist Church in Haysville KS will officiate.

The family gracefully and thankfully receives prayers and condolences but respectfully requests that contributions be made to The Gideons International (https://gideons.org/) in lieu of flowers, or donations.
