Ila Mae Wright

Wright, Ila M., 89, passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2011, at the Life Care Center of Andover. Funeral service 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church, 3700 E. Mt. Vernon, Wichita. Visitation 1 hour prior to service at the church. Preceded in death by her parents, Garee and Irving Rogers, her husbands Harold Wright and Gil Bartlett, and her sister Wava Eissler. Survivors include daughter Melodee Wright of Wichita; son Stephen Wright of Reno, Nevada; granddaughters Astra Sanday, Polly Wright, and Nova Wright of Queensland, Australia; six great-grandchildren in Australia; nieces Marilyn (Glenn) Inman and Carol (David) Bricker of Kansas City, Missouri; nephew, Roger (Kathy) Montgomery of Kansas City, Missouri; several cousins. Ila was the secretary for the Downtown Kiwanis Club, an administrative assistant at Fidelity Investments, and was also employed at Wesley Medical Center. She was a member of the Wichita Chorus of Sweet Adelines International for 60 years and was an active member of Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church and its choir. Music was her passion. She loved singing, being with family and friends, and watching her birds and squirrels.
