Hershel Strait

Hershel Strait, age 74, National Guard Veteran, passed away Monday, October 12, 2015. Visitation will be held 1-8pm, family greeting 5-7pm, Sunday, October 18, 2015 with a Memorial service 1pm Monday, both at Smith Mortuary- Mulvane, 501 S.E. Louis Blvd. Hershel is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Marie Strait; daughter, Marjorie Strait; brother, Melvin Strait. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Peggy; children, Benita (Lucky) Thornton, Teresa (Brett) Russell; grandchildren, Joshua (Jennifer) Russell, Amanda (Kevin) Conrad, Amy Thornton, Samantha (Heath) Snedeker; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Russell, Maddalyn Conrad, Sophia Snedeker. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is with the Cowley County Humane Society, 7648 222nd Rd Winfield, KS 67156.
