Henry C. (Bud) Nolting, 88, retired employee of Boeing Military Aircraft Co., passed away on January 18, 2017. Born January 26, 1928, in Atchison, Ks on the family farm, he was one of 13 children. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the Navy for two years, serving in Guam. He then moved to Wichita, KS where he was employed by Boeing Aircraft for 35 years, working on the B-47, B-52, and the KC-135. On Feb. 23, 1952, he married Dorothy Schrick of Nortonville, KS. They have enjoyed five children, Steven, Paula, Rita, Larry and Doug. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, his siblings Wm. Nolting (Topeka), Herman Jr. Nolting (Bonner Springs), and Verna Cox (Gladstone, MO), Children, Steven (Heidi) Nolting, Paula (Craig) Fulgham, Rita (Eugene) Kirkbride, Larry (Dee) Nolting, and Doug Nolting, 11 Grandchildren, and 13 Great Grandchildren. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Martha Wehking, and four brothers and five sisters. Bud will be remembered as a most compassionate and giving person. He was a dedicated communicant member of Faith Lutheran Church in Derby. As a talented woods craftsman, he spent his retirement years designing and crafting custom furniture. He loved tending to his family and his backyard nature sanctuary. Visitation 1-8 Sunday,with the family present from 6-8 at Smith Mortuary, Derby and from 10:00-11:00 Monday with Funeral at 11:00 am, both at Faith Lutheran Church, 214 S. Derby. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Faith Lutheran School, Derby, KS, and Harry Hynes Hospice.
