COLWICH, KS – Marx, Henry Matthew “Hank”, Jr., 81, passed away December 25th at Halstead Health and Rehab in Halstead, KS. Rosary 5:30 pm Wednesday, December 28 and Funeral Mass 10:30 am Thursday, December 29, both at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 311 S. Fifth St., Colwich. Burial to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Hank graduated from
Andale high school in 1948 and farmed for seven years. He married Almeda Martin in 1950 at Andale. They moved to Newton where Hank was in law enforcement for 18 years, then Topeka where he was in the trucking business in sales and management, and owned a trucking company. They moved to the Colwich-Andale area in 1968 and Hank retired in 1993. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Almeda; son, Terry (Gina) of Wichita, daughters, LaVonne (Steve) Tucker of Rio Rancho, NM; MarKay (Kent) Stuart of West Branch, IA; grandchildren Ashley (Truman) Stuart Schabilion, Adam Stuart, John Henry Marx, step granddaughters Bobby and Margo Stuckert; great grandsons, Daniel and Soren Schabilion; sister, Carmel Cavanaugh, brother, Eric Marx. Henry was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Dorothy Marx; sister, Colleen Phillips, step granddaughter, Abby Tucker-Mork, and his beloved aunt, Tillie Hilger. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the church or Good Shepherd Hospice, 500 N. Main St. Newton, KS 67114.
