Helen Marie Mcmurphy

McMurphy, Helen Marie, 84, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016. Visitation 1-8 p.m. Wednesday, at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at Rose Hill United Methodist Church, 9551 SW Butler Rd. Helen was an active member of the church, Lions Club, Red Hat Society, Rose Hill Fall Fest Committee, Historical Society, and the Senior Center. She was also a huge fan of the New York Yankees. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank, Sr. and Alpha McMurphy, sister Theolene Bond, and niece Anna Marie Hermann. Survived by siblings Mary Hermann, Frank (Virginia) McMurphy, Jr., Ted McMurphy; nieces and nephews Ed, Frank, Tim, and Chuck Hermann, Debbie Fisher, Alan McMurphy, Jane Meier, Carol French, Patrick McMurphy, Michelle Safstrom, Cheri Bond, and Denise Fillmore, and many great-nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Rose Hill United Methodist Church.
