Harold Glenn Brock

August 27, 1933 — January 30, 2025

Harold Brock, 91, son of Henry and Florence Brock, died Thursday, January 30, 2025, in Derby, Kansas.

Harold was born in Winfield, Kansas, on Aug 27, 1933. He studied graphic design at the University of Wichita, then served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, followed by time in the Kansas National Guard. He married Linda Brock in 1958 and had three sons, Randy, Richard and Robert, fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He completed his studies in the early 60’s to become a licensed professional electrician and was highly trusted for his technical experience and quality work around the Wichita area.

Harold loved serving with the Derby, KS Volunteer Fire Department and excelled in his hobbies of hunting, landscape photography and scouting. He inspired many with outdoor living instruction, life skillsets, careful thinking, and a challenge to always do their best. He was a great teacher, and often sacrificed his own time to help others with projects or needs. The teaching and help came with a smile and you knew you were getting the best knowledge and help possible.

Harold finished his life with a genuine heart for the Lord and an inner joy of knowing it was not what he had done well in life that counts, but what Jesus Christ did on the cross for his present and eternal salvation that was ultimately his only hope. He was prayerful for his family and friends and loved Scripture and songs that reminded him of God’s perfect promises that could never be taken away.
